Americans United for Life (AUL)
AUL is a pro life interest group, which is in agreement with the ideologies of Republicans. A major goal of AUL is to bring the pro-life message into more Americans’ lives so that the issue can become more main-stream. Several AUL attorneys work around the clock, helping legislatures write more pro-life laws that are viewed by them as common sense. This interest group has fought and is fighting to enact and amend pro life laws such as the Abortion-Mandate Opt-Out Act, which Natalie supports. This interest group is important to Natalie because she feels extremely strong about these beliefs about abortion, which the group also shares with her. She wants to collaborate with them to pass more pro-life laws.
National Rifle Association (NRA)
The NRA is an interest group that works along with the ILA (their lobbying section) to end restrictive gun control legislation. Their goals are to pass more pro-gun legislation and educate the public on the pros of gun ownership. The NRA also has a Political Victory Fund which ranks candidates based on voting record, statements, and responses to questionnaires. This interest group is affiliated with the Republican Party because of the want for less government interference. Natalie believes that the people have the second amendment right to own a gun, so she supports the efforts that this interest group is doing and wants this legislation they are creating to pass in Congress.
Americans for Tax Reforms (ATR)
ATR is an interest group devoted to getting written commitments from state and national level elected officials to not raise taxes. This goal aligns with the Republican ideology because they believe that their money should remain theirs, not be used as taxes on the wellbeing of other Americans. They believe that free trade is essential to America’s economic growth and that the government should be spending less. Natalie wants to work with this interest group to uphold these ideas for the Republican party, making sure that taxes do not raise.
Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR)
FAIR is a nonprofit organization that believes our nation’s immigration policies need to be reformed in order to serve the national interest. They aim to improve border security, promote immigration levels consistent with the national interest – and most importantly—stop illegal immigration. Although FAIR is a nonpartisan group, several Republicans such as Natalie tend to support what this group stands for due to their belief in free economy (everyone in America should have to earn what they have for their own). Natalie also supports what this group is doing to try and protect our borders, which is one of the main issues she is trying to promote in her campaign.
